Some stories do not begin when someone sits across from you. They begin much earlier — in what a person carries within themselves, in what they do not say right away.

Izabela spoke about life as if she were piecing it together from other people’s stories. About her sons and their struggles, about her husband, about her daughter. Each of these stories was full, important, necessary — yet she herself seemed to be the least present in them. And yet she was there in every one of them. Just differently. More quietly. More deeply.

We listened with the feeling that these stories do not end where words fall silent. That they remain. That they linger somewhere between us. And that in order to truly see a person, you sometimes have to accept that they will not reveal themselves all at once.

There are people who cannot say, “this is me.” So they tell themselves through others — through care, through presence, through everything they give to the world, as if forgetting that they are part of it too.

And then came the silence of the studio. Music. Light. Breath.

And in that moment, Izabela said the most — without using a single word.
